Coaching Philosophy Our coaching style and leadership values are summed up using quotes
“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” -Henry Ford
- Helping children realize they can accomplish anything in life with determination, positive outlook, and confidence.
- If we teach them positive lessons, through sports, such as playing by the rules, having rules teaches our young athletes to live by the rules.
- We prepare youngsters to face the future by developing themselves through honesty, responsibility, self-discipline, positive aspirations, and academic preparedness.
- We believe in developing leaders
- Through positive motivation we can move mountains within the athletes and build their confidence.
“Teamwork makes the dreamwork!” – John C. Maxwell
- Commitment to being kind to others
- We congratulate each other and celebrate success because we are equal and as a team we can accomplish more.
- Lead by example: be a great role model
- Teamwork: if someone’s flame is shining bright that doesn’t mean you’re flame is dimmer
- Decisions will be based on what is good for the individual as well as what is good for the squad, the cheer program and Utah Velocity Cheer Programs
- Uphold and promote team spirit and respect for your school and peers
- Support good relations in the community
“Confidence comes from discipline and training.” – Robert Kiyosaki
- Discipline to work hard and go for what they believe in
- It’s not always about winning. It’s also about learning how to lose, preparing for life’s challenges ahead, growing from and learning from the overall experience through the sport of Cheerleading.
- We believe in interscholastic sports being a learning vehicle for youth
- Build confidence through seeing something til completion and knowing you can do it
- We aren’t afraid of rules or discipline. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation to change the outlook and bad behavior.
- Our athletes are proud of themselves and what they are capable of.
“Nothing was ever accomplished without enthusiasm.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
- If it’s worth doing, do it with enthusiasm. Give it your all every single time.
- Show your spirit, have fun, and enjoy yourself while performing in front of family and fans!
- Cheerleaders job is to provide entertainment and build a game day experience or bring energy to there crowd. We want our team to be fun to watch and enjoy themselves along the way.
“I don’t count my sit-ups, I only start counting when it starts hurting.” – Muhammad Ali
- Athletes are encouraged to push themselves beyond what they think they are capable of within perimeters that maintain safety to prevent injuries.
- We emphasize the importance of consistent effort and dedication to achieve desired results, whether in fitness, a relationship, or any other area of life.
- Drills are designed to strengthen the athletes body and mind. They may not find them fun but if you want results drills will get you them faster.
- We believe in fitness being fun, but it sometimes comes in the form of discipline.
- Your child should see progress over time in cheer, strength should build if they’re pushing themselves each practice and not just “going through the motions”.
- With each motion you should be tired hitting our arms tight, sharp, and following correct pathways helps develop muscle memory.
